Dont you think starving is easier .. I do and i workout

Anonymous

no, not at all.

it can cause irreversible damage to your heart and brain and is simply something that cannot be sustained for a long period of time without dire consequences.

as many of my earlier blog posts illustrate, i’m totally against starvation as a means of weight loss (i will never be a fan of the abc diet, diet coke diet, or any of the pro-ana diets out there).

seriously, it’s okay to eat— that’s something that i wish everyone could remember.

40 reasons to starve... really now?

inhibitionsorlackthereof:

Forty Reasons To starve today

  1. You will be FAT if you eat today. Just put it off one more day.
  2. You don’t NEED food.
  3. Fat people can’t fit everywhere.
  4. Guys will be able to pick you up without struggling.
  5. You’ll be able to run faster without all that extra weight holding you back.
  6. People…

never reblog, but this is straight-up ridiculous! although i understand that anorexia is a disorder of the mind, i will never condone this type of dangerous encouragement. in fact, this actually really pisses me off.

  1. you’ll be fat if you eat today? you’ll likely deprive yourself of much-needed nutrients if you don’t.
  2. last time i checked, we kinda need food… seeing as how you’re 20 years old, how’d you last so long? i MAY be wrong, but i’m guessing you ate.
  3. that’s too condescending for me to even address.
  4. i’m not considered “fat,” but guys have a hard time picking me up. it’s called muscle density— look it up.
  5. you can be as skinny as a rail, but if you don’t have the conditioning, it doesn’t matter how light you are. you’ll be able to run faster for all of 3 seconds before you’re winded. yeah, i’d stick to exercising.
  6. you’re kidding, right? since when was beauty always associated with weight?
  7. OR people will describe you as the one who never eats, the one who looks sickly, and the one who looks too fragile to touch.
  8. honestly, guys prefer healthy girls. all of my guy friends will back me up on that one.
  9. exercise and eating right is also an excellent example of willpower.
  10. or you can eat and enjoy hair that’s strong and shiny, not brittle and dry.
  11. no thank you, i’d rather have a healthy amount of fat hanging over my bones.
  12. woooooow, i didn’t realize everyone who eats looks like that. you can correct me if i’m wrong.
  13. have you seen whitney thompson? toccara jones? they’re gorgeous plus size models.
  14. i’ll agree with you there. i dislike the fact that the statistic indicates our nation is exceedingly unhealthy, but that doesn’t mean you go to the other extreme. it’s all about balance, and in my opinion, starvation is just as bad as overeating.
  15. so the majority of human beings (i understand that there are people starving in some countries, but that’s not their choice) are selfish and unrealistic? cool.
  16. are you really calling people pigs?
  17. being thin does not equate to being beautiful. beauty isn’t measured by weight!
  18. where’s your basis for this? just ‘cause you’re lightweight doesn’t make you stealthy.
  19. again, being lightweight doesn’t make you any more graceful. if you’re referring to athletes, who exude grace in their respective sports, they gain that through hard work, not by starving themselves.
  20. i play two sports. slap my thigh and it’s gonna jiggle. that’s life.
  21. i’d rather people say i look healthy. :)
  22. there is no “perfect body.” everyone’s got a different idea of what perfect is, and everyone’s capable of achieving their own perfect body.
  23. ballerina or bean bag? how about regular, healthy person?
  24. that’s what hot air balloons are for. unless you weigh less than a rock, a balloon’s not gonna do much for ya. that dream’s not happening.
  25. wear snow shoes, and you’ll leave a light footprint. that’s as good as it’s gonna get!
  26. starve off the parts you don’t need? i’m sorry, but there’s no logic there.
  27. wrong. you can’t achieve good health and balance with hunger.
  28. saying ‘no thanks’ to food is saying ‘yes please’ to health problems, some of which are irreversible, like damage to your heart.
  29. “fat” people are human beings. they exist and actually have a higher chance of being seen.
  30. you’re ridiculous. oh well.
  31. who wants to be a walking skeleton? not me.
  32. too bad being thin has no taste. i’m pretty sure starvation is one of the most painful “tastes” out there. don’t take food for granted— other people are actually starving, and you have the choice to eat. be grateful.
  33. who said you had to pick food over happiness? you can have both. and appearance? don’t even go there.
  34. eating is conforming? by that logic, so is sleeping. and walking. and moving. and being on the computer. and talking. yeaaaaaaah no.
  35. feeling dizzy and weak all the time will only end badly.
  36. food doesn’t betray you unless you let it. it’s all about balance, and starvation does not contribute to that balance.
  37. now that depends on what kind of food you’re eating. plenty of food can give you energy, help fight free radicals, nourish your body and cells, and release endorphins to make you happy.
  38. think of exercise as your secret weapon.
  39. again, why do you use the two extremes? i can give you a multitude of reasons to be healthy.
  40. nope, wrong again. a simple google search brings up certain clothes to avoid if you’re skinny. you’re supposed to layer blah blah blah. in all honesty, wear what makes you happy.

i don’t know you so i’m not gonna say you’re dumb/stupid/any of that type of stuff. i do know that anorexia is dangerous. it shouldn’t be encouraged like this.

people shouldn’t feel guilty if they eat. if human beings weren’t meant to eat, we wouldn’t have mouths or stomachs.

i don’t know about you but i’m gonna go eat some ice cream (well, popsicles) right now. guilty? not in the least! :)
